The institute was founded in the 1980s. At present, the institute has 10 full-time faculty members, including 4 professors and 4 associate professors. It has various advanced dynamic testing and analysis systems, such as vibration table, anechoic room, laser vibration measurement system, sound intensity testing system, and modal testing system. The Institute has carried out in-depth systematic research on mechanical structure dynamic analysis and optimization design, noise and vibration control, intelligent structure and system, intelligent operation and maintenance and health management, dynamic performance and reliability test, etc. The research results have been widely used in engineering fields such as high-end CNC machine tools and robots, high-end construction machinery, new energy vehicles, aerospace equipment, advanced rail transit equipment, and high-performance medical devices.
In recent years, facing the major needs of the national economy and the national innovation-driven development strategy, the institute has focused on the theoretical research and engineering application of mechanical dynamics. The institute is committed to making mechanical products have the best dynamic quality in all stages of design, manufacturing and operation at the lowest cost. In the past 5 years, the institute has undertaken more than 20 national and provincial scientific research projects, such as the national key research and development program, the National Natural Science Foundation, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Jiangsu Province, the transformation and upgrading of industrial and information technology in Jiangsu Province, and more than 40 projects commissioned by enterprises. The institute has published more than 200 SCI/EI papers in high-level journals, authorized more than 30 invention patents, and published many academic monographs. The institute has won more than 10 awards such as the first and second prizes of Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education, the first and second prizes of Science and Technology Progress of Jiangsu Province, the second prizes of Science and Technology Progress of China's Automobile Industry and the second prizes of Science and Technology Progress of China's Machinery Industry.
The institute student-oriented pays attention to personnel training, and currently undertakes theoretical and practical teaching of more than 10 courses such as mechanical drawing, mechanical manufacturing engineering, Mechanical vibration theory and application (in English), modal analysis, finite element analysis, dynamic optimization design of mechanical structure, Mechanical vibration and noise control (in English). For a long time, the institute has established good academic exchanges and industry-university-research cooperation with well-known universities and leading enterprises. The institute attaches importance to international academic exchanges and solves practical engineering problems, and has graduated more than 30 doctor students, more than 200 master students. Most graduates work in domestic and foreign universities, large state-owned enterprises, central enterprises, foreign enterprises and other enterprises and institutions, including the 14th institute of CETC, No. 509 Institute of the Eighth Aerospace Academy, HW, ZTE, XCMG, SAIC and GM, Ford, Apple, etc.
