报告:How to Develop Your Career Effectively in an International Company
Abstract: Some of you are interested in studying abroad or working in an international company. However, roughly speaking, less than 5% of Chinese
working abroad in an international company grow to be an effective leader/manager. Dr. Wang was promoted two times in last 5 years while working at
Caterpillar Inc., the World’s largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines.
She is an Alumna of Southeast University and would like to share her insights on how to develop yourself to be a leader/manager while working in an
International company.
报告人: Dr. Haixia Wang
Bio. Dr. Wang received the B.Sc. degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Shandong University, Jinan, in 1994, the Ph.D in the same field
at Southeast University, Nanjing, in 2001, and the M.Sc, and the Ph.D in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Madison,
USA in 2003 and 2006, respectively. From 2006 to 2008, She worked first as a postdoctoral researcher and then as a research associate and assistant
director in the US National Science Foundation Industry/University Collaboration Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems at Cincinnati, Ohio,
USA. She was then recruited by Caterpillar Inc. In 2008, first working as a senior engineer, then project team leader, and now an engineering supervisor in
the Division of Product Development and Global Technology. Her research interests include virtual manufacturing and supply chain simulation for decision
support in product design, factory development, and supply chain optimization.
Dr. Wang served as the President of China Economic Forum at Madison in 2003-2004, the Vice-president of ASQ Madison student chapter in 2004-2005,
a Vice-Chair of ASME Cincinnati Section in 2008, a Vice Chair of Caterpillar Chinese Resource Group in 2010-2011. She is a member of Rotary
International Youth Exchange Program Interviewers and a Guest Professor of Shandong University, Jinan, China.
